SAVANNAH, Ga – Good morning! This is Stormteam 3 Meteorologist Alysa Carsley wishing you a wonderful Saturday.
Although winter officially begins tomorrow, it seems to have made an early appearance today with temperatures dropping to freezing levels this morning. This is a significant drop of 30-40 degrees compared to yesterday. However, the chill is expected to be brief. Starting tomorrow, temperatures will gradually rise, reaching the low 50s by Christmas morning.
This weekend, afternoon temperatures are anticipated to hover in the mid-60s. We’ll enjoy sunny skies today, although a few clouds will roll in on Sunday as a cold front makes its way through. Fortunately, this front is expected to be uneventful, bringing only some additional cloud cover without any rainfall.
After the front passes, we can expect a quick dip in temperatures for Monday afternoon. However, a warming trend is on the horizon with temperatures climbing into the lower 70s for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Monday’s highs will be in the 50s, but they’ll rebound to the 70s just in time for the holiday festivities.
We are looking forward to a dry, sunny, and festive week ahead!
