SAVANNAH, Ga () – Good morning. Let’s have a fabulous Friday!
Overcast to end out our work week as a coastal low develops off our coast. Heaviest rain bands will remain off the coast, but pockets of heavy rain will be possible along the coast in the afternoon and evening. Otherwise, scattered rain will be possible throughout the day. Highs remain about 10 degrees cooler than average in the upper 60s to lower 70s.
Tides remain elevated today and tomorrow. Our next high tide is at 11 am at Fort Pulaski with a forecasted tide height of 10.3′. This is above moderate flood stage. Water could be possible on HWY 80 on Tybee. Forecasted height tomorrow at 12 pm is around 9.8′.
Gradually the low will pull up the east coast and move further away from our area. However, we won’t be rain free this weekend. Sort of how yesterday’s northeast wind locked in cloud cover behind our mid-week’s cold front, our weekend will have the northeast wind lock in clouds and a few passing showers both weekend days. Gradually through Sunday, we will start to see more sunshine. Highs remain in the mid 70s both days.
More sunshine is back in the forecast (finally) for this upcoming work week. Highs will return to seasonable in the lower 80s.
