TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A cold front will pass through the Tampa Bay area today bringing showers and a few thunderstorms this afternoon. Temperatures will warm into the mid-70s by midday and it will be muggier and breezy.

A line of gusty storms will arrive to the Nature coast between noon and 2 pm. The main line moves south through the Tampa area between 2 and 4 pm. It continues moving south through Sarasota and Highlands through the early evening hours. A few showers will linger through the early evening hours before clearing out overnight.

The clouds will linger and temps will drop into the mid-50s tonight. The clouds will still be stubborn to clear Thursday afternoon and temperatures will struggle to warm into the mid-60s with a chilly breeze filtering cooler air in.
Thursday night and Friday morning will be coldest with temperatures dropping into the 30s and low 40s. The sun returns Friday afternoon but it stays chilly with highs only in the low to mid-60s.

The weekend will be a little milder with highs in the low 70s but clouds return Saturday with a low 10% rain chance for a couple of sprinkles. Rain chances will be higher Sunday as another weak front crosses through.
It will be drier and cooler next Monday and Tuesday before temps moderate back to near normal, in the mid-70s, for the middle and end of next week.
