JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — A proposed corridor study for State Route 75 in Gray is scheduled for discussion during Thursday’s Johnson City Commission meeting.
The corridor study, which staff has recommended the commission approve, will address the need for transportation infrastructure improvements due to new residential developments, increased school enrollment, proposed commercial facilities and future growth.
Valued at $150,000, CDM Smith based in Knoxville will conduct the study in the areas below if awarded the contract, according to the agenda.

Various subtasks, including the review of FEMA flood maps, growth plans, USGS mapping, school zones and more are proposed.
The bulk of the study’s cost would be covered by federal and state dollars, with $22,500 coming from local budgeted funds.
The targeted completion date for the study is Sept. 30, 2025. CDM stated in its plans for the study that final presentations on the study and document submittal would be completed by Oct. 31, 2025.
