Surgoinsville Police Department Seeks Shooting Suspect

ROGERSVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Surgoinsville Police Department is searching for a man allegedly involved in a shooting in Rogersville on Tuesday.

According to a press release from the police department, officers responded to the 100 block of Cardic Drive in Rogersville after reports that a man had been shot just after 6:30 p.m.

An investigation determined that Johnny Lynn Arnwine, 22, reportedly fired the shots that hit the victim.

Arnwine fled the scene in a light blue or silver 2023 Toyota Corolla with tag number 335BPVD in an unknown direction, the release stated.

“Arnwine is considered armed and dangerous and the public is asked not to approach him,” Chief James Hammonds said in the release.

Anyone who sees Arnwine is asked to call 911.

Hawkins County Schools Superintendent Matt Hixson confirmed to News Channel 11 that no schools were placed on lockdown due to the search.
