In a significant development, the suspect linked to a double homicide in Bristol has been returned to Tennessee. The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that 18-year-old Elijah Campbell is now in their custody, having been officially booked into the Sullivan County Jail on Wednesday afternoon.
Campbell’s transfer comes after he had been detained in Virginia, following his decision to surrender to the Bristol Virginia Police Department last November. This move was in connection with the alleged double homicide that took place in Bristol, Tennessee.
According to court documents, the incident unfolded during the early hours of November 23 when law enforcement responded to a shooting on the 100 block of Lilly Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds, two of whom were pronounced dead at the scene. Campbell turned himself in to authorities later on that same day.

Court documents obtained by News Channel 11 included accounts from witnesses, who told police an argument had occurred at the home before the shooting. Witnesses said a group of people, including Campbell, had decided to hang out at the home after a party they had planned to go to was cancelled.
Campbell is set to appear in court in Bristol General District Court in Bristol, Virginia on Thursday.
