DUNEDIN, Fla. (WFLA) — A Tampa Bay business is reaching out to a fisherman who found himself at the center of a viral video.

Gage Towles was fishing in southwest Florida when he got into a confrontation with a charter captain that escalated when the captain, named Brock Horner, boarded his vessel.

Towles got the confrontation on camera and uploaded a clip onto social media. It later became widely shared across platforms.

“I look at it now like I possibly can save another person from Brock Horner or possibly someone’s life by getting this captain off the water,” he wrote on his YouTube channel.” I’ve heard some horrible sad stories by some other people.”

Sympathizing with Towles, Eddie’s Bar & Grill in Dunedin announced that it was trying to get in contact with Towles to offer him a token of support.

“We’re excited to share that we found him!” the business wrote on social media. “Thanks to our community. His name is Gage, and he turned out to be exactly who we thought he was—a respectful, kind-hearted young man with a true love for fishing. We’ll be meeting up with Gage this Tuesday to personally thank him and recognize his positive behavior. As a small token of appreciation, we’re giving him a $500 gift card to spend at his favorite fishing store.”
