Tampa Police Launch Investigation: Woman Dead, Man Injured in Stabbing Incident

A tragic incident in Tampa, Florida, has led to a homicide investigation following the death of a woman at a local residence.

According to Tampa police, officers responded to a call shortly before 1 a.m. on January 22, reporting a potential shooting at a home located on Ninevah Road.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a woman in her early 20s suffering from “upper body trauma” and a man in his late 20s with distinct stab wounds, as stated by the police department.

Despite the prompt response and life-saving measures attempted by paramedics, authorities confirmed that the woman tragically died at the scene. The injured man was transported to a nearby hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

Investigators were still working Thursday to determine what led up to the incident.

According to police, early evidence suggested there was a fight between the man and woman, and another person inside the home may have tried to intervene.

Officers said the man and woman knew each other prior to the incident. No further information was immediately available.
