The City of Tampa’s Parking Division has announced the exciting return of its e-bike Voucher Program for 2026, offering residents a chance to significantly save on e-bike purchases.

This initiative operates on a lottery-style, application-based system, allowing eligible participants to receive vouchers worth up to $3,000 towards the purchase of a new e-bike. The announcement highlights the program’s success in previous years, having awarded over 450 vouchers in 2023 and 2024. For the upcoming year, the city has allocated $500,000 to fund this initiative.

In 2026, the program will distribute a total of 248 vouchers. This includes 81 standard vouchers providing $1,000 off, 82 low-income vouchers offering a $2,000 discount, and 85 very low-income vouchers granting the maximum $3,000 off a new e-bike.

Interested residents can apply online, in person at any of the four scheduled e-bike rodeo events, or by visiting the City’s Parking Division offices, located on the third floor of the Fort Brooke Garage at 107 N. Franklin Street.

Applications can be submitted online, in-person at one of four e-bike rodeo events or at the City’s Parking Division offices located on the third floor of the Fort Brooke Garage on 107 N. Franklin Street, the City of Tampa said.

The application window opens on Feb. 13 at 8 a.m. and closes on Feb. 27 at 5 p.m.

The City of Tampa emphasized that the program is not a free bike giveaway. Vouchers can be used toward the purchase of a Class 1 e-bike, which is pedal-assist only, or a Class 2 e-bike, which is pedal or throttle-assisted.

Adaptive e-bikes for individuals with specialized needs are also eligible.

Tampa residents ages 18 and older must submit a signed purchase quote from a participating bike shop to qualify. Voucher recipients will be required to purchase a new helmet with the eBike.

According to the City of Tampa, there are seven local bike shops participating in the program this year:

  • City Bike Tampa, 208 E Cass Street
  • EMOTO Supply Co., 1054 Water Street
  • Oliver’s Cycle Sports, 18055 Highwoods Preserve Parkway
  • Outspokin Bicycles Tampa, 3300 S. Dale Mabry Highway
  • Pedego Tampa, 2918 N. Himes Avenue
  • Tampa Bay eBikes, 4004 S. MacDill Avenue
  • Trek Bicycle Tampa, 530 S. MacDill Avenue

The City of Tampa said it will host four e-bike Rodeo events to allow interested individuals to test out various e-Bikes, ask questions and fill out e-bike voucher applications:

  • Feb. 16 at Ragan Park from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
