Taylorville House Fire Under Investigation by State Fire Marshal After Swift Response from Local Fire Department

In Taylorville, Illinois, a house fire broke out on Wednesday afternoon, prompting a swift response from the Taylorville Fire Department. The State Fire Marshal’s Office has since launched an investigation to determine the cause of the blaze.

On social media, the fire department reported that they were called to the scene at 4:27 p.m. The incident occurred in the 1300 block of N. Webster Street, where they encountered a fire engulfing the front porch of a one-story house with a basement. The flames were quickly spreading into the interior of the home.

Firefighters acted promptly, deploying two 1 3/4″ attack lines to aggressively combat the flames. Their quick action prevented the fire from reaching the attic and further spreading throughout the house. Fortunately, the home was vacant during the incident, and no injuries were reported.

Support came from the Owaneco Fire Protection District, Stonington Fire Department, and Taylorville Police Department, who all assisted at the scene. The Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office is currently conducting a thorough investigation into the fire.
