MOORESBURG, Tenn. (WJHL) — A Hawkins County man was arrested after an arson investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI).

According to the TBI, Daniel Dewayne Manning, 70, of Mooresburg, was booked into the Hawkins County Jail on Tuesday.

At the request of District Attorney General Dan Armstrong, TBI agents began investigating the circumstances surrounding a vehicle fire that happened in October 2023 in the 700 block of Big Hill Road in Mooresburg.

The investigation determined that Manning had intentionally set the fire, according to the TBI.

A Hawkins County grand jury reportedly returned indictments last week charging Manning with arson, reckless endangerment, vandalism, insurance fraud, and false reports.

Manning was booked into jail on a $30,000 bond, according to the TBI.
