TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — It was a lively atmosphere at Amalie Arena.

The South Carolina Gamecocks are headed back to the NCAA Championship game to fight for their second straight national title.

Two former Gamecock Women were in the stands, cheering on the team. Both of them played in the 2015 Final Four and say they expected the Gamecocks to win Friday. One of them shared how the Gamecocks should prepare ahead of Sunday’s Championship.

“Embrace your role, scout report is important and listen to coach, she is not going to lead you wrong,” said Olivia Gaines.

Gaines said she expects South Carolina to take on UCONN Sunday.

But UCLA Bruins fans said, don’t count them out.

“I feel pretty good. Paige Bueckers, I don’t think it’s going to be her day. Lauren Betts is going to guard her pretty well. I think it’s going to be pretty good for UCLA, and a Bruin win,” said one UCLA fan.

Huskies fans beg to differ.

“I expect Sarah Strong to do her thing. Of course, Paige Bueckers is going to get up. And I just hope the young ones don’t get too scared and frightened in this atmosphere. We should be OK I think,” said a UCONN fan.
