Teenager in Critical Condition Following Shooting Incident in Champaign

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — A 19-year-old male is in critical condition following a shooting incident in Champaign early Sunday morning.

Champaign Police Department officers were alerted to the situation around 1:45 a.m. when they arrived at a local hospital to find the teenager suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso. The police classified the injury as “potentially life-threatening,” and as of Sunday morning, the young man was undergoing surgery and remained in critical condition.
