WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ga. – A tranquil evening in Washington County was shattered on Monday night when deputies from the Sheriff’s Office rushed to the scene of a shooting on Georgia State Route 68.
Sheriff Joel Cochran provided details of the incident, revealing that an 18-year-old was the unfortunate victim of the December 15 attack. The young man was swiftly transported to the Washington County Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The victim recounted a chilling account of the event, explaining that he was unsuspectingly sitting in his vehicle at a residence on 68 South. It was there that a masked assailant launched a surprise attack, leaving the victim injured with a gunshot wound, while his vehicle sustained multiple bullet strikes.
Law enforcement officials, upon arriving at the scene, meticulously collected several shell casings, piecing together the evidence to build a clearer picture of this unsettling crime.
The following day, Sheriff Cochran announced a significant development in the case. Two teenage suspects have been apprehended in connection with the shooting, bringing a sense of relief to a community rattled by the violent episode.
