STATESBORO, Ga. () — According to an article published by Grice Connect, hundreds of tenants living in a Statesboro apartment complex, The Vault, will soon be without homes.

Tenants were notified of the unsafe living conditions and told they will need to seek alternative housing as soon as Friday, April 11. The reason residents were given is ‘significant structural deterioration.’

In the article, City of Statesboro Public Affairs Manager Layne Phillips says a private structural inspection conducted on behalf of a third party concluded all buildings in the apartment complex were “dangerous and exhibited considerable structural issues.”

Management at The Vault has notified tenants their leases will be terminated and April rent will be refunded. An exact number of people who will be without housing is unknown, but according to the Grice Connect article, The Vault has a full capacity of 528 beds in the complex.
