It's really the End in this eclectic neighborhood

AUGUSTA, Ga. () – There’s a farmhouse that looks like it dates from the turn of the last century, and there’s the historic Piney Grove Church nearby, but you’re not out in the country.
“This is a very weird and eclectic neighborhood. Everything is all sorts around here: mixed cultures, mixed bag over here,” said Darnell Brown.
These ladies have been around here for decades. They know the church and the old farmhouse.

“It used to be the Hollingsworth house: the people who owned the Hollingsworth Candy Company,” said Betty Booker.
This isn’t some rural paradise. This is the city; part of Forest Hills in Augusta.
“They called it the Cabbage Patch because my daddy grew greens and vegetables like this,” said Mary Blackburn.

And in this neighborhood, you can reach the end of the road, literally.
“Yes, the End Street. I was raised up on End Street,” said Betty.

That’s right: End Street, not a landmark. Tell visitors to come over, and you will never hear the end of it.
“Oh no. They don’t know where End Street is at. They have to try and spell it out to make sure it’s the right place you’re talking about,” said Darnell.
“Do you know why it’s End?”

“No, I don’t,” said Mary.

But you can see from your house the end of the road.
End Street maybe a place for a new start.

“You wouldn’t expect End Street to have so many nice people with that name,” said Darnell.

“So, when you reach the end, you’re doing good.”

“You’re doing great,” he said.
So this is the end, my friend.
