FCC seeks local input on eliminating, revising rules for media and telecom companies

Savannah, GA. () — The Federal Communications Commission is asking input from local news viewers.

FCC Chairman Brendan Carr is asking for the public’s help in rethinking some of the Commission’s regulations—asking YOU to weigh-in on regulations that should be revised or eliminated all-together. The initiative is called “Delete, delete, delete,” and it was announced by the Chairman last month in a press release and on the social media platform “X.”

“For too long, administrative agencies have added new regulatory requirements in excess of their authority or kept lawful regulations in place long after their shelf life had expired,” Chairman Carr said. “The FCC is committed to ending all of the rules and regulations that are no longer necessary. And we welcome the public’s participation and feedback throughout this process.”

The FCC regulates media and telecommunications companies and local television stations like News 3, and Chairman Carr is a big supporter of local news.

The FCC is accepting comments from the public through April 28.  If you want to learn more about the FCC’s “Delete, delete, delete” initiative and make your voice heard, you can visit
