CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Not everyone can experience signing a contract for their dream job, but the University of Illinois’ Gies College of Business is giving students the next best thing.

Thursday was business signing day at the college. The event is for students to come in and announce their major. Each year, more than 100 students come in one-by-one, waving to the camera ready to share with classmates, faculty and family what their next move is.

“It brings us together as students,” said U of I Junior, Aria Jain. “It really fosters in our business relationships, and you meet people you wouldn’t normally see in the atrium. And so, I think it really just brings people together as a community.”

For the first time ever, the Marching Illini band made an appearance to help congratulate the students.
