JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) – An anonymous local resident donated $250,000 to the Salvation Army’s Mission Essential.

This donation was made to the organization’s shelter, located on West Walnut Street, and will be used toward the “More Than A Bed” campaign. The campaign aims to help individuals and families achieve long-term stability by assisting with healthcare navigation, job training, and connecting them to resources, according to the release.

“We are incredibly grateful for this key donation that reflects commitment to caring for our neighbors in need and to The Salvation Army’s commitment to providing ‘More Than a Bed’ as we journey with our guests toward housing and healing,” said Major RC Duskin, Salvation Army Johnson City Corps Officer, said in the release.

More information on the organization’s “Mission Essential More Than A Bed” campaign can be found on the Salvation Army website.
