Chatham County PD arrests man in $500k elderly fraud scheme

CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. () — The Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) announced Monday that it made three arrests in three separate entering auto cases occurring since Sept. 11.

Antonio James Griffin, 21, was arrested and charged Sept. 11 in one of 13 cases that occurred that day in the areas of Johnny Mercer and Bryan Woods. Griffin is charged with felony possession of tools for commission of a crime, felony theft by receiving stolen property and misdemeanor possession of marijuana – less than one ounce.

On Sept. 13, 38-year-old Robert Pete Skrine was arrested and charged with a felony charge of entering automobile or other motor vehicle with intent to commit theft or felony and a misdemeanor charge of criminal trespass. His arrest was in connection to an entering auto case at a convenience store at 1 Diamond Causeway in Sandfly.

On the morning of Sept. 14, CCPD officers arrested Raijon Lamar Ross, 31, in the 800 block of Quacco Rd. after reports that he was rummaging through a person’s vehicle. Ross was charged with a felony charge of entering automobile or other motor vehicle with intent to commit theft or felony.
