CONCORD, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A popular TikTok personality, Malik Taylor, tragically died in a single-car crash last week in Concord, authorities confirm.
According to the Concord Police Department, officers were called to Lapis Lane NW around 7:44 a.m. on Wednesday, August 20, following the report of a serious accident.
As officers arrived, they found a 2016 black Nissan Rogue SUV overturned at the bottom of a steep 20-foot drop, off the side of the road.
Taylor, 28, was the only person in the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene by Cabarrus County EMS. The Medical Examiner’s Office and Concord Police’s Criminal Investigation Division determined no foul play was involved, but alcohol is suspected as a contributing factor.
The official cause of death was listed as multiple blunt force injuries from the crash.
Known for his uplifting content and energetic personality on TikTok, Malik had built a large following online. Off-screen, he was also remembered by his fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi-Zeta Phi, which shared heartfelt tributes honoring his life.
“To know him was to know he was a light to everyone, always bringing laughter, joy, and a warm smile that brightened every room he entered,” the fraternity shared on social media.
“Though your time with us was far too short… You will be deeply missed, but your spirit will continue to inspire us,” the fraternity wrote.
The family of Taylor also shared gratitude for the support they’ve received during this time. His fraternity urged others to join them in surrounding his loved ones with “comfort and prayer.”
