AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – Invitations for the 2026 Augusta National Women’s Amateur were dispatched in January, and so far, 71 players have confirmed their participation in the Championship set for April 1-4 in Evans and Augusta, Ga.

This year’s lineup boasts all of the top 20 players from the current World Amateur Golf Ranking, alongside 48 of the top 50 globally. Competitors hail from 23 countries and territories across all six inhabited continents. The roster includes former champions Tsubasa Kajitani (2021) and Anna Davis (2022), 2025 runner-up Asterisk Talley, and the world’s top-ranked amateur, Kiara Romero. Megha Ganne and Amanda Sambach are set to make their sixth appearance at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur. A current list of confirmed participants can be accessed here.

Carla Bernat Escuder of Spain lifts the Augusta National Women’s Amateur Trophy in Amen Corner following the final round of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur at Augusta National Golf Club, Saturday, April 05, 2025.

Kicking off the week before the 90th Masters Tournament, a diverse field of 72 will tackle 54 holes of stroke play. A cut to 30 players and ties will follow the first 36 holes. The initial rounds are scheduled for the Island and Bluff nines at Champions Retreat Golf Club on April 1 and 2. All players will then head to Augusta National Golf Club for a practice round on April 3, with the final round for those who made the cut taking place on April 4 at Augusta National.

The first two rounds will be aired live on Golf Channel from 1:30-3:30 p.m. ET from Champions Retreat Golf Club. NBC Sports will deliver three hours of live coverage of the final round from noon to 3 p.m. ET at Augusta National. Additionally, Golf Channel’s “Live From the Masters” will start on April 3, offering comprehensive coverage of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, the Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals, and the Masters Tournament.

The Augusta National Women’s Amateur, which has showcased elite female amateurs since 2019, will mark its seventh Championship in 2026. Jennifer Kupcho, now a major champion, clinched the inaugural title in 2019 before the 2020 event was canceled due to COVID-19. In 2021, Kajitani delivered Japan’s first win at Augusta National, paving the way for Hideki Matsuyama’s historic Masters victory days later. In 2022, Davis, at just 16, became the youngest champion with a final-round score of 69. Rose Zhang, the world’s top amateur for nearly three years, crowned her amateur career with a playoff victory in 2023. England’s Lottie Woad made history in 2024 as the first European champion, later matching Zhang’s record by winning in her LPGA Tour debut. Last year, Spain’s Carla Bernat Escuder set a new Championship record with a 12-under 204, securing her victory by one stroke with birdies on all four par-5s in the final round at Augusta National.
