Fatal boating accident on Skull Creek in Hilton Head Island

BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. () – The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) is investigating a fatal boating accident that occurred late Friday evening.

At approximately 9:45 p.m. on June 28, emergency personnel with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) and the U.S. Coast Guard responded to reports of a boat crash in the Skull Creek area of Hilton Head Island.

Upon arrival, the vessel was located with four individuals on board.

Two occupants sustained injuries and were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Tragically, the other two individuals were found deceased at the scene.

The Beaufort County Coroner’s Office will release the identities of the deceased pending notification of their next of kin.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
