In Piney Flats, Tennessee, the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) has reported the discovery of two deceased dogs among multiple animals at a local residence on Wednesday.
According to a statement from the SCSO, authorities were alerted to the presence of abandoned animals on North Austin Springs Road on Wednesday afternoon. It was noted that the homeowner hadn’t been seen for several weeks.
Upon confirming these reports, the SCSO described the animals as appearing neglected. After securing a search warrant, detectives found two dogs, two cats, and the bodies of two deceased dogs at the location.
Sullivan County Animal Control was called to the scene and took the animals into their care. The investigation is ongoing, with charges expected to follow.
The SCSO’s statement did not disclose the exact address or the identity of the homeowner involved.
