BRANDON, Fla. (WFLA) — Tragedy struck at Brandon High School as a 17-year-old student lost his life after a collision with a CSX train on Thursday morning, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident unfolded around 8:20 a.m. on January 8, when deputies swiftly responded to the scene near Lakewood Drive. Upon arrival, they discovered the teen who had sustained severe injuries from the accident.
