CITRA, Fla. – Two dogs were found dead in a mobile home that caught fire Tuesday afternoon in Citra, according to Marion County Fire Rescue.

Firefighters responded after 2 p.m. to the 3800 block of NE 175th Street Road, where the 911 caller reported smoke coming from the roof, windows and doors of a single-wide mobile home.

The first responders got a hose deployed and quickly made an aggressive interior attack as additional firefighters from other stations began to arrive and soon deployed a second line, Marion County Fire Rescue said on social media.

The fire was under control at 2:35 p.m., the post states, adding the dogs were located during searches of the home. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.

The cause and origin of the fire were still under investigation as of 4:27 p.m. Tuesday, according to the post.
