Tragic Lake County Motorcycle Collision Claims Life: What Troopers Discovered at the Scene

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. – In a tragic incident on Sunday evening, a 39-year-old motorcyclist lost his life in a solo crash in Lake County, as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred at approximately 5:10 p.m. near the intersection of County Road 455 and Woodlands Drive.

A report from the crash investigation indicated that a Suzuki GSX-R600 was heading north on C.R. 455 when it approached Woodlands Drive.

According to the troopers, the motorcyclist failed to navigate a curve successfully, leading the bike to veer off the road. This mishap resulted in the rider being ejected from the motorcycle.

Troopers said the motorcyclist failed to negotiate a curve and ran off of the roadway right which caused to rider to be thrown from the vehicle.

According to the report, the motorcyclist – identified as a 39-year-old Howey-in-the-Hills man – was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.

The incident marks at least the third fatal motorcycle crash in Central Florida on Sunday after two men driving motorcycles were killed in a crash with an SUV in Brevard County.
