LOS ANGELES – James Ransone, the talented actor remembered for his role as Ziggy Sobotka in HBO’s critically acclaimed series “The Wire,” has tragically passed away at the age of 46.

According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office, Ransone’s death was ruled a suicide, occurring on Friday. His passing marks a profound loss in the entertainment industry, where his work has left a lasting impact.

Ransone’s versatile acting career spanned both television and film. He garnered attention in notable movies such as “It: Chapter Two,” “The Black Phone,” and its sequel, “Black Phone 2.” On the small screen, he made memorable appearances in the police drama “Bosch” and the series “Poker Face.”

Efforts to reach out to Ransone’s representatives for comments were made on Sunday, alongside attempts to contact a spokesperson for the medical examiner’s office, reflecting the broader community’s desire to understand this tragic event.
