The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) is at the helm of an inquiry following a fatal shooting involving law enforcement officers in Knoxville. The incident unfolded as officers were pursuing leads related to an endangered child alert, the Knoxville Police Department (KPD) disclosed on Wednesday.

According to KPD, detectives had tracked down a 15-year-old girl, who was the focus of an Endangered Child Alert, to the North Park Apartments situated on Tillery Road. She was reportedly with a 46-year-old man unrelated to her. At approximately 10:25 a.m., officers arrived at the apartment complex.
