ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A wave of tragic shootings involving teenagers has left the community of Orange County deeply unsettled, as three young lives have been tragically lost in under a week.

The most recent incident unfolded on Sunday night when authorities reported the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old in a residential area near 26th Street.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office detailed that deputies arrived on the scene at approximately 9 p.m. in the 1500 block of 26th Street and discovered 17-year-old Lil’Raylin Harrison with critical gunshot injuries. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators are actively seeking leads to identify the individual responsible for Harrison’s death. The community is encouraged to reach out to Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS with any information, assuring that all tips can be given anonymously.

Residents in the area said the loss of so many young lives in such a short amount of time is deeply unsettling.

“It’s almost like an everyday situation,” one resident said. “It could be anything, mostly getting high, getting drunk.”

Sunday’s shooting marks at least the third teen killed in Orange County in just five days.

On Christmas Eve, a 17-year-old boy was shot and killed near a condominium complex along PGA Boulevard.

Then on Christmas Day, a 13-year-old girl was fatally shot inside a home on Okada Court. A 15-year-old is now facing a manslaughter charge in that case. The teen told deputies it was accidental.

Another resident said the violence is especially alarming because of how young the victims are.

“It’s kinda crazy because I used to be like that, but of course we all change,” the resident said. “Once you get that chance, you gotta take it. It’s serious. It really gets serious out here. It can happen to you when you’re 12, 10.”

Orange County Sheriff John Mina addressed the recent violence during a news conference last week, emphasizing that investigators are continuing to work through the holidays.

“I just want everyone to understand that while we’re all home enjoying the holidays with our family and friends, our deputies, our detectives, the men and women of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, are working hard to bring justice to these families,” Mina said. “The pursuit of justice doesn’t stop.”

Deputies said all three cases remain active investigations and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
