One dead in two-vehicle early morning Decatur crash

A tragic incident unfolded in Decatur, Illinois, as a 17-year-old boy lost his life in a shooting on Friday night. The police have apprehended a 19-year-old suspect as they press forward with the investigation into this heartbreaking homicide.

The Decatur Police Department was alerted on the night of October 24th, around 10:10 p.m., following reports of gunfire and a victim at a business located in the 1100 block of E Wood Street. Officers arriving at the scene discovered the teenage victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was swiftly transported to Decatur Memorial Hospital via ambulance, but tragically, he did not survive.
