GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. () — Three people have been arrested after a vehicle pursuit took place in Glynn County on Saturday.
The pursuit began after a Glynn County Police Department (GCPD) officer reportedly attempted to conduct a traffic stop to a vehicle exiting I-95 at Spur 25.
During the chase, officers allegedly noted that a passenger was throwing a handgun from the vehicle in the College Park subdivision. After the incident, officers recovered the firearm.
With assistance from Georgia State Patrol (GSP), the pursuit ended after the suspect vehicle slid off the roadway and crashed into a Georgia Power traffic light support pole. Georgia Power has inspected the pole and secured a low-ranking power line.
Zhonae Scott, the driver, is facing multiple charges related to fleeing and traffic violation.
Harrison Gibbons, a male passenger and a convicted felon, was charged with several firearms violations for throwing the handgun from the vehicle.
Alyssa Gonzalez, a second passenger, was charged with possession of schedule II narcotics.
