ORLANDO, Fla. – Mondays are often a time to get back to basics, and for me, that means taking a closer look at the roads many of us drive every day. Today, I’m focusing on Oak Ridge Road, a stretch that runs east and west through a residential section of Orange County.
Despite its neighborhood setting, Oak Ridge Road is a highly traveled corridor, carrying commuters from east and west Orange County. The mix of steady vehicle traffic, pedestrians and ongoing construction can create an unpredictable drive for motorists.
Today, I’ll be heading back to Oak Ridge Road, a place I spent years patrolling as a Florida Highway Patrol trooper. Revisiting these familiar areas gives me a chance to see how things have changed and to share safety reminders with those who rely on the road for their daily commute.
Join me as I take a closer look at how construction, traffic flow and pedestrian activity are shaping the Oak Ridge Road corridor, and what drivers can do to stay alert and safe.
