President Trump extended his congratulations to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday for clinching the 2025 World Series title against the Toronto Blue Jays, expressing his eagerness to host them at the White House soon.

“Kudos to the L.A. Dodgers, a victory achieved by true CHAMPIONS!!! A lesser group wouldn’t have pulled off such a win, especially in game 6,” Trump remarked on Truth Social. “Many stars contributed to this success. Hats off to the ownership as well for their tremendous work. SEE YOU ALL AT THE WHITE HOUSE!!!”

The Dodgers overcame a deficit throughout most of Saturday’s Game 7, ultimately securing a 5-4 triumph in 11 innings. This marks their second consecutive World Series championship, having also won in 2024, making them the first team to achieve back-to-back victories since the New York Yankees’ streak from 1998 to 2000.

Trump, who was the Republican presidential contender at the time, lauded the Dodgers’ 2024 victory over the New York Yankees, highlighting their grit, skill, and “movie star” appeal.

In a White House ceremony in April, Trump welcomed the Dodgers, using the occasion to make a veiled jab at California’s Democratic senators, Alex Padilla and Adam Schiff, who were absent from the East Room event. However, he refrained from naming them directly.

“We have a couple senators here. I just don’t particularly like them, so I won’t introduce them,” Trump said in April, after rattling off a list of California lawmakers who were in attendance.

The Dodgers were the second champion sports team to visit the White House since Trump returned to office, following the NHL’s Florida Panthers. It is a return to tradition after many sports teams skipped visiting the White House during Trump’s first term.

The team’s recent win also comes after Trump deployed thousands of National Guard troops to the City of Angels in June as immigration protests erupted that turned violent at times.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) and the state’s attorney general have challenged the deployment as unlawful.
