Two 19-year-old Danville men arrested on illegal gun charges

DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — Two 19-year-old men, one a convicted felon, were arrested by Danville Police officers Friday evening for unlawful firearm charges.

At around 9 p.m. on March 21, the Danville Police Department Problem-Oriented Policing Unit (P.O.P.) conducted a traffic stop in the area of Gilbert and Williams Streets after witnessing a moving violation. Officers then made contact with two subjects in the vehicle who were identified as 19-year-old Alex Doe and 19-year-old Joshua S. Brocks, both of Danville.

During the stop, officers witnessed a firearm in the vehicle and further investigation showed neither man could legally possess a firearm. Both men were arrested and transported to the Vermilion County Public Safety Building for processing.

Alex Doe was found to be on probation in Vermilion County and was booked on the charge of unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. On the other hand, Joshua S. Brocks was booked on the charge of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
