LIVE OAK, Fla. (WFLA) — Authorities have apprehended two individuals in connection with the tragic death of a toddler on Monday, as confirmed by the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office.

At 3:06 p.m., the sheriff’s office reported receiving a 911 call about an unresponsive toddler at a residence in the 22900 block of 128th Path, Live Oak.

The caller indicated that CPR was being administered.

Deputies, alongside Suwannee County Fire Rescue, swiftly arrived at the scene, and the young child was transported to a local hospital but sadly succumbed to his injuries.

In the course of their investigation, deputies and detectives noted injuries on the child that suggested extensive neglect and continuous physical abuse. They observed severe bruising, swelling, and other trauma that contradicted the caregivers’ explanations.

The Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office arrested the child’s mother, Christian Parnell, 33, and her boyfriend, Curtis David Willey, 33, in connection with the toddler’s death. They have been charged with aggravated manslaughter of a child.

The sheriff’s office reported that additional charges are pending the result of an autopsy and further forensic examination.

Anyone with information about this case should contact Investigator Bradley Griffin with the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office at (386) 362-222.
