SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — Two men have been arrested, and firearms were recovered following a Thursday afternoon shooting in Springfield.

According to the Springfield Police Department, officers received a call at approximately 1:44 p.m. on July 3 for the report of multiple shots fired in the 1500 block of Cornell Ave. On scene, officers noticed several bullet holes from gunfire that struck a house and vehicle in the area.

Although no injuries were reported on scene, two men have been arrested in connection to the shooting and firearms have been recovered. At this time, Springfield Police is not releasing the identities of those arrested.

Even though arrests have been made, this investigation remains ongoing. There is no further information at this time.
