A news release from the Johnson City Police Department (JCPD) said reports of shots fired at the Cherry Street parking lot came into 911 dispatch at around 3:20 a.m. Sunday.

The release said that upon arrival, officers located and apprehended two suspects. Morland Whitely, 18, of Johnson City, was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and reckless endangerment. Drake Blackburn, 18, of Jonesborough, was charged with accessory after the fact, according to the release.
