MIAMI – In a concerning incident on Wednesday morning, two Miami police motormen were injured on the Dolphin Expressway, as reported by News 6’s partner, WPLG-TV.
The collision occurred on the westbound lanes of the expressway, close to Northwest 42nd Avenue. It was reported that an SUV collided with several motormen who were either working on or near the roadway at the time.
According to a spokesperson from the Miami Police Department, the injured officers were promptly transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center. Thankfully, despite the severity of the incident, they are expected to recover, having sustained injuries to their legs and arms.
In a stroke of luck, two additional motormen positioned behind the injured officers escaped the incident without harm.

Police added that two other motormen positioned behind them were not hurt in the incident.
Miami police said a black SUV was believed to be involved, but investigators are still determining if the vehicle at the scene was connected to the crash.
