The Savannah Police Department has detained two suspects following an armed robbery that transpired during an online marketplace transaction on Tuesday, according to a department spokesperson.

Tyquan Floyd, aged 20, and Ryan Scott, aged 18, face charges of armed robbery after their arrest and subsequent questioning. In addition, Scott is facing a charge of aggravated assault.

Officers from the SPD responded to a report of an armed robbery on the 2000 block of Tuskeegee Street around 3:05 p.m. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.

Authorities successfully apprehended both suspects on the day of the robbery.

Sgt. Joshua Flynn, the SPD Public Information Officer, advised the public, “When conducting marketplace transactions, avoid doing them at home. Opt for a safe location, such as a police station parking lot. The Savannah Police Department welcomes the public to use any of our locations for these exchanges during regular business hours.”

Sgt. Flynn also recommended electronic payment, as opposed to carrying cash.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information should call CrimeStoppers, 912-234-2020, or submit an anonymous tip through the SPD mobile app.
