The University of Illinois Springfield has introduced a meaningful addition to its campus: a bench that offers more than just a place to rest. This newly installed bench, generously contributed by Josh’s Benches for Awareness, aims to support students dealing with mental health challenges. Unveiled on Monday, the bench prominently features the suicide prevention hotline as a lifeline for those in need.

The university hopes this bench will serve as a constant, visible reminder to students that help is readily available. It is part of a broader effort to address mental health issues and to dismantle the stigma often associated with seeking help.
