Understanding Hydroplaning and Tips for Safe Driving in Wet Weather

ORLANDO, Fla. – Storms are an everyday occurrence in Florida.

Rain and storms are expected to be widespread through Saturday, with the highest chance of storms mainly during during the afternoon and early evening hours.

A stalled front across north Florida will keep rain chances at 70–80% on Thursday and Friday. Although the storms aren’t expected to be severe, a few stronger ones could bring gusty winds up to 45 mph, frequent lightning and heavy downpours.

With the holiday weekend coming up, and storms in the forecast, we’re going to break down what you need to know to stay safe on the road – especially when dealing with hydroplaning.
