GIFFORD, Ill. (WCIA) — Illinois men’s basketball looks to finalize next season’s roster after an offseason that’s seen plenty of additions and subtractions so far.

Kylan Boswell, Ty Rodgers, Tomislav Ivisic, and Jake Davis have all confirmed they’ll return to Champaign.

Will Riley and Kasparas Jakucionis have declared for the NBA Draft, Jason Jakstys is coming off a redshirt season, and the availability of Ben Humrichous is still up in the air, while others have hit the portal.

Underwood provided an update on Humrichous’s situation:

As far as additions, forward David Mirkovic has committed to the Illini, while Zvonimir Ivisic, Brandon Lee and Keaton Wagler have all signed with the Orange and Blue.

With spots still left to fill for 2025-26, Underwood described what he’s looking to add.

We’d like another kind of a combo guard,” Underwood said. “We need kind of a bigger forward, that we’re still trying to work through and if it happens to be an older guy, that’s great. That doesn’t mean it’s not going to be a freshman, but it’s got to be the right fit and a guy who can stretch the floor and shoot it will be a top priority.”
