In the Village of Kansas, Illinois, a snowplow that had recently joined the fleet met a tragic end over the weekend. The vehicle caught fire while performing its duties, leaving the community in shock.

The incident occurred on Saturday around 3:30 p.m. According to Valerie Staggs, the Village Clerk, the snowplow, a 2024 model, was navigating the village streets when the driver noticed smoke emanating from the passenger-side vents.

“He quickly drove to our police department, opened the hood, and found the engine engulfed in flames,” Staggs recounted.
