MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. – Deputies in one Florida county recently said they had to “expel” an unexpected visitor to a high school campus, but it may not be what you think.

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office posted a video on social media showing them wrangle an alligator at Parrish Community High School on Tuesday.

Bodycam video shows deputies, one wearing a cowboy hat, trapping the animal at a fence line close to a body of water near the school around 6:49 a.m.

Someone at the scene can be heard saying, “Y’all make this look like you do this on the regular,” with a deputy desponding, “we do.”

Watch the video below to see Manatee County deputies wrangle the alligator:

“That’s the biggest fight we’ve had in a while,” one deputy could be heard saying after they trapped the gator and placed it in the back of a truck.

At one point in the video, the alligator could be heard loudly hissing after deputies taped its mouth shut.

“And this one is not happy,” deputies said.

Later in the video, the alligator can be seen cautiously backing into a lake after being relocated about an hour after being captured.

Deputies said the gator was safely relocated to a “more suitable environment, far from the classroom.”
