In a significant law enforcement operation in Unicoi County, Tennessee, a man was taken into custody after a raid on his residence unveiled a cache of weapons and illegal drugs, including fentanyl and methamphetamine. The Unicoi County Sheriff’s Office (UCSO) announced that Daniel Regan, aged 44, residing on Sugar Hollow Road, was apprehended on Tuesday.
The UCSO disclosed in an official statement that during the search of Regan’s home, deputies discovered an alarming inventory: seven firearms alongside drug paraphernalia, methamphetamine, fentanyl, marijuana, and THC gummies. This operation underscores the ongoing battle against illegal substances and firearms in the area.
This search and subsequent arrest were part of a coordinated effort with federal probation authorities, as they were monitoring an individual on probation for theft of government property. It is yet another example of local and federal agencies working together to uphold law and order.
Following these discoveries, Regan now faces multiple charges. These charges reflect the serious nature of the offenses and highlight the ongoing commitment by law enforcement to tackle drug-related crimes in the community.
Regan was charged with the following:
- Seven counts of possessing a firearm by a convicted felon
- Felony possession of fentanyl
- Felony possession of methamphetamine
- Possession of marijuana
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Maintaining a dwelling where drugs are used or sold
As of Wednesday, Regan was being held in the Unicoi County Jail. The UCSO expects that additional federal charges will be added.
