ORLANDO, Fla. (WFLA) — Universal Studios Florida is gearing up to unleash a thrilling new outdoor roller coaster, scheduled to make its debut in 2027.
The excitement is building as Universal Orlando Resort reveals plans for the “Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift” roller coaster, which will take the place of the former Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit coaster.
Promising to immerse guests into the high-octane world of Universal Pictures’ “Fast & Furious” franchise like never before, the new ride will offer adrenaline-pumping excitement by putting them right in the driver’s seat.
Adventurers will experience heart-pounding 360-degree drifting as they navigate the course, which features a dramatic 170-foot vertical “spike.” This element will launch riders nearly 17 stories high, treating them to breathtaking views over the edge of Universal CityWalk.
The addition of “Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift” is set to enhance Universal Orlando Resort’s lineup of acclaimed roller coasters. In a statement, Universal Orlando Resort highlighted the ride as a testament to their ongoing growth and innovation. Meanwhile, Universal Studios Hollywood is also preparing to roll out its own unique version of the Fast & Furious coaster later this year.
According to Universal Orlando Resort, the “Fast & Furious”- Supercharged will permanently close in 2027.
