The University of Illinois’ College of ACES is marking a significant milestone by celebrating a foundational element of its history that has been quietly contributing to agricultural science for 150 years.
This milestone commemorates the Morrow Plots, the oldest ongoing agricultural experiment in North America. This year, the university is highlighting the Plots’ vital role in advancing local farming practices. Adam Davis, head of the soil sciences department, emphasized that while research methods have evolved, the core mission of enhancing crop yields remains unchanged.
