CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Saving animals is what the University of Illinois Wildlife Medical Clinic in Champaign County is all about.

But in order to keep the mission going they need help with donations. To raise the money, they’ll be working together with Jarlings Custard Cup. People will be able to show a flier created by the organization for a 20% discount, then the money will go to the U of I Wildlife Medical Clinic.

Because the rescue clinic is based on donations they’ll use any profit for medical treatment and food. The clinic’s program coordinator said they have one focus and that’s caring for all their animals.

“Our mission is actually first and foremost to get wildlife back out into the wild. And we rely on people to bring them into the clinic. But then once they’re here, we see injured, ill, orphaned animals. So, our goal basically is to get them back into the wild,” Sydney Oliveira, Wildlife Medical Clinic Program Coordinator, said.

Oliveira said they’re one of the few groups who have a clinic that works with any wildlife species besides bats and skunks.

The organization holds at least six different fundraisers throughout the year.

Oliveira said they don’t have a set amount of money they want to raise, they’re just hoping for a good turn out. The event will be April 14 from noon to 10 pm. Next month they’ll have another fundraiser event with Triptych Brewing.
