AUGUSTA, Ga. ()– The stirring performance you just witnessed was a sneak peek of “Head In The Clouds: A Giant Musical Adventure.”

This captivating show is set to take the stage at the Imperial Theatre this weekend, on March 20th and 21st.

Led by the Augusta Players Artreach program, this production features director Laura Thomas. Joining her is Braylen Ferguson, who delivered the powerful song you heard and stars as Jack.

The show owes its existence to the support of the Porter Fleming Foundation, which champions local arts. The script, penned by renowned Augusta actor and musician Ryan Abel, offers a fresh take on the beloved tale of Jack and the Beanstalk. The musical score and lyrics are the creations of local talents Patrick Reagan and Luke Amerson.

Audiences can expect a performance brimming with “contemporary original songs that beautifully weave storytelling with intense emotion, underscoring the empowering message that when hope outgrows fear, anything becomes achievable!”

15-year-old Braylen talks to us about “Hope growing taller than Fear,” and how he knew as a child that music theatre was going to be his thing!

“I could sing and dance since I could walk and talk. Every picture of me when I was younger, I had a microphone. And I had gotten into acting recently. I think when I was about 10 years old. And I hadn’t found my thing where it was like, this is where I can be a triple threat until I discovered musical theater, I auditioned, and I got in, and I was really excited, and that’s how I’m here.”

You have two chances to see “Head In The Clouds: A Giant Musical Adventure” this coming weekend. Friday, March 20th at 7PM and Saturday, March 21st at 2PM. It’s at the Imperial Theatre on Broad Street. You can call 706.826.4707 for more information.
